POWERBOMB COMEDY FESTIVAL: Week 1

Whether you’re after laughs, craft beer, or simply things to do in Sydney this October that don’t involve American Civil War re-enactments, Powerbomb Comedy Festival 2019 has got you well and truly covered.

Sydney’s biggest independent comedy festival is back, and some of Australia’s funniest stand up comedians are set to hit the stage at Staves Brewery for another year of massive laughs.

We’ve got four massive shows kicking the festival off in the first week, with something for everyone from podcast fans to die-hard local stand up comedy followers.

Here’s your guide to Powerbomb Comedy Festival week one:

Total Reboot (Live Podcast) 5.15pm

Cameron James and Alexei Toliopoulos are two of the funniest comedians in town (not to mention sharp film buffs) and their podcast Total Reboot is a must-listen for film fans. Kick back as they compare films with their reboots, remakes and rip-offs, live at Powerbomb Comedy Festival.

Girlpowerbomb: Show 1 7pm

Girlpowerbomb was a crowd favourite at last year’s Powerbomb Comedy Festival, and this year we’re doubling down with two shows delivering twice the laughs. The first week features Fiona Cox, Zoe Sitäs, Shubha, Jacinta Gregory, Alex Jae with the incredible Stephanie Broadbridge hosting.

Dan Rath, The Emasculations Are Over 8.15pm

If there’s one comedian in Sydney who makes his peers drop everything to watch when he pops up on a lineup, it’s Dan Rath. Fresh from a nomination for Best Newcomer at Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Rathy is a force of nature and a truly original comedic voice.

U UP? with Andrew Hastings 9.30pm

One-sixth of Powerbomb Comedy and a staple of the Sydney comedy scene, Andrew Hastings hosts U UP, a show that is sure to make you feel better about your life choices. Andy is known for his crowd-pleasing comedy festival shows and as the co-host of cult teen sex comedy podcast, We’ll Just Tell Your Mother We Ate It All, and U UP? is sure to be another killer show.
